We continued our journey from SLC to Seattle through beautiful Montana. This blog has a lot of pics as I couldn’t make myself delete any koz I love all of them.😀
When we exited Yellowstone NP we spent a night in West Yellowstone, MT, which is is a super cute tourist town with character and walkable downtown filled with stores and rest! We quite enjoyed it scrolling around in the eve and in the am before heading out. I don’t have any pics, I must have deleted them by a mistake. 😀
Our first nature stop in Montana was at the beautiful Hebgen Lake, MT, where we chilled for some time having the beach to ourselves.
Then we stopped at the Earthquake Lake, MT, that has a sad story as it formed after 1959 earthquake that brought down a big part of one of the Madison Canyon’s mountains on the sleeping campers below it. 😢
Next we headed to Butte, MT which is so uniq u gotta fall in love with it. Its an old mineral mining town established in 1864. The industrial looking downtown spreads over a hill, and you can see the whole town from there.
From Butte came a 4hour long drive towards Glacier NP, MT. The diverse changing scenery made it fly by.
We stayed in East Glacier Park which is part of the BlackFoot Indian Reservation – also cute walkable town with nice views.
Now about Glacier – I feel like I don’t have a right to say I have been there as I wasn’t able to get the Going-to-the-Sun road pass that you need to be able to drive on the main scenic road (the approx. 1k/day avail passes sold out in 2 minutes – I wasn’t even able to get in with my lousy cell/hotel wi-fi connection). So we checked out the visitors center and drove a lil bit inside the park and around it.
Another section of this road trip was getting to Kalispell, where hung out by Foys lake, MT for a lil bit before heading to a hotel.
Leaving Kalispell we spent almost the entire day at the large Flathead Lake, MT, it was def a dreamy place that feels like a sea. The last pic is of a burnt by wild fire area that we drove by. Fortunately they just opened up the road to traffic or else it would had been a long detour.
Our last stop in MT was at a hidden gem Thompson Falls, MT, which is a small town in the mountains with nice views of the Clark Fork river. It felt like you could just spend every summer here.

From here we headed to Seattle with a few overnight stops in WA. Next blog will b from our next temp home! 😁

Since we didn’t get into Glacier NP, there were no other restrictions on dogos anywhere we visited. 🐕🐕
“Czech The Box Summary” – Krátce a Stručně Česky (na anglické klávesnici)
Dalsi cast nasi dlouhe cesty ze SLC, Utahu - Seattle, Washingtonu je pred nadhernou Montanu. Clovek o tom cely zivot slysi jak je tam krasne, a je to pravda.
Jak jsme vyjeli z Yellowstonu na noc sme zustali v hezkem mestecku West Yellowstone, kde jsme se promenadovali po ulickach s obchudky (nic sme nekoupili proze pejsci dovnitr nesmi, tah sme aspon usetrili 😀).
Pak sme to vzali kolem Hebgen jezera, a taky Quake jezera, ktere se vytvorilo po silnem zemetreseni v 1959 kdy se sesula hora na spici kempare (28 to bohuzel neprezili).
Na dalsi noc sme jeli do Butte, coz je zajimave industrialni mestecko postavene na kopci. Ochutnali sme mistni pivecko, a pochodili po okoli nez sme vyrazili smerem na sever do Glacier narodniho parku.
Po 4 hodinove ceste sme prespali v East Glacier Park mestecku na indianske rezervaci. Bohuzel se nam nepodarilo den predtim zajistit prujezd tim Glacier narodnim parkem (v lete limituji vstupy, a na kazdy den akorat pusti kolem 1,000 aut - no bohuzel s mou slabou konekci se listky vyprodaly behem 2 minut pred myma ocima).
Ale i tak sme si zajeli kde to slo, a pak sme pokracovali kolem Flathead Lake, kde clovek mel pocit jako by byl u Stredozemniho more.
Nase poledni MT zastavecka byla v mestecku Thomson Falls, ktere lezi v horach u reky, takze idylka.
Tak a tedka razime smer Washington state.
